Historic Pub, Locally Sourced Food
The Winyard's Gap Inn has stood on this site for over 300 years, overlooking the glorious Dorset and Somerset hills. As far as we know, the inn has always been a public house but has gone by various names over the years. It's current name comes from a General Winyard's, who blasted his way through the area in order to move heavy artillery.
The Inn is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing lunch, dinner or a few drinks. In the winter, cozy up next to our log burning fire and enjoy a pint of our delicious Chedington Amber Ale. Come spring and summer time, take a seat in our extensive beer garden where you can enjoy one of the best views in the West Country. Our chefs will tantalise your tastebuds with our delicious dishes, featuring local meats and cheeses, including our very own Chedington Estate lamb and beef, reared on the Estate. Whether you are part of a large function or an intimate dinner for two you will be treated to our warm, hospitable service in a relaxed setting. What's more, our warm welcome will also extend to your four legged friends, who are welcome in both our garden and pub.
