Winyard's Gap Inn is a historic and cultural landmark — a public house has stood on this site for over 300 years. Our Inn features a bar, dining room, patio, extensive beer garden, and six ensuite bedrooms set back from the main building. We want every guest to feel welcome and enjoy their visit. While we have made efforts to accommodate all guests, please note that, due to the historic nature of the building, there are some limitations. The following information is provided to help you plan your visit with confidence.​

Pre-Arrival

If you have any special access requirements, please let us know when booking so we can make any necessary preparations.
We strive to cater to all dietary needs — our main menu includes gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Please inform us of any specific dietary requirements at the time of booking so we can advise accordingly. Where possible, our chefs can adapt certain dishes to suit your needs.

Arrival and Parking

The pub is easily accessible by car from the A356. Local taxis are available with advance booking — please ask for contact details when booking. We have a large tarmac car park adjacent to the main building. While there are no designated disabled spaces, we will do our best to reserve a spot close to the dining room entrance with prior notice. If you need assistance, our team is happy to help with luggage or supporting pushchairs.​

Entrance

The main entrance is at the front of the building. A secondary entrance, with double doors, leads to the dining room via the patio. These doors are fire doors and usually kept closed but can be unlocked on request. Both entrances have steps with handrails on either side. Our team is available to assist if needed.

Inside The Pub 

• The bar and toilets are all on one level.

• The dining room is at the back of the pub, down a flight of four steps with handrails. 

  Bar and dining areas have solid wooden flooring.

• Toilet access is limited for some disabled guests due to width of the doors and space inside the cubicles. The ladies’ toilet has a small step and includes baby changing facilities.

• Background music is played in the bar and dining room.

Bedrooms

We have six ensuite bedrooms in separate buildings behind the pub.

• All rooms are accessed via external steps with handrails and anti-slip decking.

• Most rooms are on one level, except Room 5, which is on the second floor.

• Pets are welcome in all rooms except Room 5. A small additional charge applies, and a maximum of two pets per room is allowed.

Accessibility ​

We regret that full wheelchair access is not currently available throughout the Inn. We are reviewing ways to make the property more accessible. Our team is ready to assist in any way possible, and we encourage guests to contact us in advance so we can prepare to meet your needs.
